Happy Holidays to our GTU Friends!
Each day when you turn on your TV, listen to the
radio, or read the headlines, you receive news of conflict and violence — and
though your heart may break, there is little that you can immediately do to help.
As you consider which charitable cause to support this holiday season, we hope
you will join the GTU in our belief that learning and teaching curiosity,
understanding, and respect for others' beliefs can bring peace to the world. Peace — that's the outcome we strive for in our programs committed to outstanding scholarship and its practical
application in the world. Your generous gift can help us meet this goal.
Make your gift before
December 31, and your gift will be tax deductible for

GTU Alum's peacemaking mission in Zimbabwe

GTU Alum Andy Dreitcer
(Ph.D. '94) and colleagues from the Claremont School of Theology just returned
from Zimbabwe,
where they led workshops for tribal chiefs, pastors, and government officials
on healing and reconciliation in their villages and churches, in the midst of
ongoing violence.
"Many of the workshop's 85 participants had
been victims of violence themselves," says Dreitcer. "It was the first time
that some of them were able to publicly speak of the beatings and torture they
had endured. The chance to work together meant so much to them. On the final
day of the workshop, when they were developing strategies and projects for
reconciliation for their communities, the catharsis was incredible. We are
excited to see what happens next."
