Purpose

Presented annually to honor those graduate alumni/ae who, by example and labor, effectively confirm the School's mission in their work and ministry, whether ordained or non-ordained, and thereby bring distinction to themselves and to their alma mater through their outstanding achievements.

Criteria

  • Excellence in Parish Ministry A benevolent and effective witness who recognizes, embodies and communicates the gospel through demonstrated meaningful experiences in the practice of ministry in a congregational setting.
  • Excellence in Community Service A benevolent and effective witness who recognizes, embodies and communicates the gospel through demonstrated meaningful experiences in the practice of ministry in a setting beyond the congregation.
  • Excellence in Academic Leadership A benevolent and effective witness who recognizes, embodies and communicates the gospel through demonstrated meaningful experiences in the practice of ministry in an academic setting.

Nominations and Selection

Alumni/ae of Claremont School of Theology and its predecessor institutions will be given the opportunity to nominate one candidate per year. Completed Nomination Forms are due March 15 each year. Contact the Alumni/ae Relations Office to request a Nomination Form

A Nominations Committee consisting of three members of the Alumni/ae Council, the Director of Alumni/ae Affairs, two volunteer/selected alumni and any other member(s) deemed necessary by the Alumni/ae Council will work in consultation with the President, Dean and Faculty to ensure that history and precedents are understood and properly observed.
